Welles really wants Daniel to crawl.  So today - before naptime, he gave Daniel a quick lesson in "how to crawl."

6 months - time really does fly!

No Kissing in the Baby Birds Nest!

I went to pick Daniel up from school yesterday, and his teacher said that he has a girlfriend. A girlfriend! At 6 months! Her name is Celia (Celie), and I have to admit - she is so cute. She is also 6 months older than Daniel.

Celie is now walking, and walks up to wherever Daniel is (in the exersaucer, swing, etc.) to "flirt" with him. She jumps at him and giggles, and he giggles and squeals back. Ms. Pat said that Celie was running up to Daniel yesterday, and kissing his cheek. Daniel would stick his cheek out for her to kiss it.  Then they would both laugh hysterically.

Oh goodness!  What do we have to look forward to?

Viruses, car trouble, and the wrong tank- Oh My!

What a week! First Daniel caught a virus, then he gave it to me. I haven't been this sick in a long time. It turns out we both have ear infections in both ears and a hacking cough. OUCH!

Our computer also became infected with a virus. Don't computer hackers have anything better to do? What a nuisance! We are still fighting that one.

My old Honda now belongs to Welles, and it would not start last week when he was taking Daniel to school. Turns out it needed a tune-up. However, when we went to pick it up, Welles noticed that the tires were completely bald on the inside! So, a tune-up and two new tires should hold us over for a little longer on the Honda.

Now for the story about the wrong tank. Long story short, it is time for our septic tank to be pumped. I called and made an appointment. A company came out and pumped - THE WRONG TANK! Apparently our house has two and one is only connected to the washing machine. I explained to the dispatcher over the phone that there were two tanks. She hurriedly said, "we have a map - we pumped it in 2005..." I said OK b/c they pumped the correct tank in 2005, so what was I to know? Now there is a dispute--they want us to pay for the tank that was pumped and will give us a measly 20% off to pump the "correct" tank. I don't think so. We'll let you know how that goes. If you want to know which septic company in Birmingham NOT to use, call me.

In the meantime, to avoid the drama we experienced last week, I think we will plan to stay in the house the second week in June next year!

Keeping us in line!

It's a good thing we have so many people keeping us straight as new parents!  WHEW!  Welles and I would not know what to do without friends, family, daycare and the dry cleaners to keep us in line.  This picture says it all.

I didn't mean to send that shirt to the dry cleaners, but somehow it got mixed in with the suits I took in last week.  They did dry clean Daniel's shirt, but thankfully didn't charge us (what would you charge for a shirt that is one-tenth the size of a normal shirt, anyway?)

Daniel is a silly laughing baby.  He loves to be startled!
