20 - 21 months

I can't believe it's been almost a month since I last updated!  Things have been so busy lately.   Below are pictures and videos from the last month.  We have been going to parks, enjoyed one last weekend at the pool, played outside and visited with family.

Backed into a corner

This morning Welles called to me to say, "Missy has Daniel backed into a corner!"  Sure enough, she was interested in some toast that he was eating.  It didn't seem to bother Daniel as he repeated, "No-no Isshy!"    Still it provided us with a good laugh!

We went back to the park yesterday.  Daniel has mastered the slide and even adds, "Weee" as he slides to the bottom of the big slide. 

Another Day - Another Park

We went to Veterans Park today and had fun chasing Daniel around.  Missy enjoyed getting out of the house, too.  It is amazing that it takes all 3 of us (including Missy) to keep up with Daniel!

A little swimmer

Our little buddy loves the water.  Wendy and Lily Cate invited us to their neighborhood pool today and I was surprised to see how far Daniel has come with his "swimming."  You may be a skeptic, but he was really trying to swim in the baby pool. 

Sometimes, he belly flops into the pool and then crawl/swims across the pool. 

When we went to the "big pool," he kicked his legs and would pull with his arms as I held him.  He also loves to jump in from the side of the pool. 

Daniel is a lot of fun these days, and we hear new words every day.  He really tries to sound out words that we ask him to repeat.  By the end of our pool adventure with our friends today, he was trying to say, "Lily," but it came out more like, "la-la."

He also loves to go to the park.  We went to the park near our house the other evening after work and Daniel had a blast on the swings and slides.

Trains, boats, trucks, and "Cahs"

Daniel has a love of all forms of transportation. He frequently points at other cars on the road and says, "CAH!!!" If he sees a fancy sportscar in a parking lot, he runs up to it and ooh's and aah's over it exclaiming, "Cah." We are working on "CaR," but he hasn't picked up the "r" sound yet. We were at the Galleria not too long ago and he was mesmerized by the train. He stood in front of it for several minutes making the "choo choo" noise.  Welles convinced me to take a ride with him. We went to the mountains of North Carolina this past weekend.  We had a wonderful time in Waynesville and Asheville taking in the cool mountian air.  We stayed at a golf resort - a Christmas gift from my parents that we finally took advantage of.  We couldn't have asked for better weather! 

Welles had a great time teaching Daniel all about his favorite sports - football and golf!  See the videos below - Daniel is learning to jump from the line.





One day at lunch, Daniel decided it would be cute to "play" with his food. He took two shoestring fries and dangled them from his mouth. For about 3-5 minutes, he twirled, hit, and threw them around with his hands - all while they were hanging from his mouth. It was the funniest, most spontaneous moment, and my mom and I laughed til our sides hurt!

Fingerpainting with Friends

I picked Daniel up from school one day last week, and his teacher went on and on about how much he loved fingerpainting that day.  The center's newsletter came out last week, and lo and behold, there is a picture of Daniel fingerpainting and having the time of his life! 

He is singing (or yelling) and painting away!  I love how two of his classmates are watching him in awe.  We love our silly boy!
