Easter Weekend

This is a little boy that loves his Daddy!

We went to Aldridge Gardens and Daniel had some pictures made with the bunny statue.

Daniel was very good at hunting Easter eggs.  I guess it isn't very hard when they are all laying right in the middle of the yard!

We had lunch at my parents house after church.  Daniel and Mary Linnley loved strolling around and riding in the wagon.

All in all, we had a wonderful Easter weekend!  Christ the Lord has risen today!  Alleluia!

He Loves to Swing

Today we spent the morning at Homewood Park.  We enjoyed the swings, the slides and walking around the sidewalk while people-watching. 

To the Zoo

Daniel's school went to the zoo the day that the awful tornados came through Alabama.  Our field trip was early in the morning, so we were still able to visit all of our zoo friends before the storms came.  We didn't get to see the real elephants; they were still sleeping.  We did get to see many other animals, and can't wait to go back for more fun!

Daniel loves school (daycare).  The last few days, instead of carrying him into the classroom, I have been letting him walk by himself.

He typically walks directly to his room, turns, and waves bye-bye.

Yesterday, parents came in to watch the children during nap time so the teachers in the center could go to lunch together.  I volunteered for an hour.  It still amazes me that the children sleep on their cots so well at this age. 

Other than one child that tried to "sleep-crawl," the nap hour went very well.
We love Daniel's daycare, and couldn't be happier with the things he is learning there.  Below are some of his "signs."

What's Happening?

We've been busy the last few weeks, but have finally joined the 21st century and gotten iPhones.  Many of the following pictures are taken with our new "toys." 

I never posted pictures from our "whirlwind" beach trip last month.  My parents kept Daniel while we went to the Sandestin beach resort for a banquet with Welles' company.  We had a great time!  I think one of the best parts was just being able to talk to each other...it seems like we rarely have that opportunity these days.

Daniel loves to be outside and explore his surroundings.  When he gets out of the car in the afternoons after work/school, he immediately walks to his stroller or wagon and climbs in.  He cries when we come back inside!

This past Friday night, we went to see the Mickey Mouse Magic Show.  Daniel was very intrigued for the first 35-40 minutes.  Then, he wanted to walk around; so we left.  We had a great time!

15 month check-up

Daniel has always been on the upper-side of the weight and height curve.  He was wearing size 12 month clothes at 6 months, size 18 month clothes at 9 months, and size 24 month clothes at 12 months. At his 15 month checkup, he weighed 28 pounds (91st percentile) and measured 32.25 inches tall (82nd percentile).  Amazingly, in 3 short months, he grew almost 2 inches!  The little guy (or big guy) is built just like his daddy with broad shoulders, very long-waisted and shorter legs.  He is walking all over the place and rarely falls.

We were reading a book while waiting for the pediatrician, and when Daniel saw a picture of a cow, he did the sign for milk!  We frequently ask him, "What does the cow give us," and he sign's "milk."  I was amazed that he saw a picture and signed milk...smart kiddo!  He signs "please," "more," "all finished," "milk," "eat," and "stop."  It is so nice to be able to communicate with him through sign language!  He says, "duck," "cow," "go," "dada," "mama," "Pop," (my dad), "bye-bye," and "sit." 

After the visit, we went to Publix for a free cookie and then to the playground. Daniel loves getting dirty, playing with sticks, rocks, and anything else on the ground.  It was nice to spend some time with my little 15 month old buddy!
