What's Happening?

We've been busy the last few weeks, but have finally joined the 21st century and gotten iPhones.  Many of the following pictures are taken with our new "toys." 

I never posted pictures from our "whirlwind" beach trip last month.  My parents kept Daniel while we went to the Sandestin beach resort for a banquet with Welles' company.  We had a great time!  I think one of the best parts was just being able to talk to each other...it seems like we rarely have that opportunity these days.

Daniel loves to be outside and explore his surroundings.  When he gets out of the car in the afternoons after work/school, he immediately walks to his stroller or wagon and climbs in.  He cries when we come back inside!

This past Friday night, we went to see the Mickey Mouse Magic Show.  Daniel was very intrigued for the first 35-40 minutes.  Then, he wanted to walk around; so we left.  We had a great time!

15 month check-up

Daniel has always been on the upper-side of the weight and height curve.  He was wearing size 12 month clothes at 6 months, size 18 month clothes at 9 months, and size 24 month clothes at 12 months. At his 15 month checkup, he weighed 28 pounds (91st percentile) and measured 32.25 inches tall (82nd percentile).  Amazingly, in 3 short months, he grew almost 2 inches!  The little guy (or big guy) is built just like his daddy with broad shoulders, very long-waisted and shorter legs.  He is walking all over the place and rarely falls.

We were reading a book while waiting for the pediatrician, and when Daniel saw a picture of a cow, he did the sign for milk!  We frequently ask him, "What does the cow give us," and he sign's "milk."  I was amazed that he saw a picture and signed milk...smart kiddo!  He signs "please," "more," "all finished," "milk," "eat," and "stop."  It is so nice to be able to communicate with him through sign language!  He says, "duck," "cow," "go," "dada," "mama," "Pop," (my dad), "bye-bye," and "sit." 

After the visit, we went to Publix for a free cookie and then to the playground. Daniel loves getting dirty, playing with sticks, rocks, and anything else on the ground.  It was nice to spend some time with my little 15 month old buddy!

A day at the Farm

After church and Sunday naps, we went to the farm of one of Welles' coworkers to hike, feed horses, and cookout. We had a wonderful time, as you can see from the pictures below. Thank you so much, Melissa and Frank for having us over yesterday!  We had a blast!

Crazy with Coupons

I know I can do better, but I got all of the items in the picture below for $20.43. 

I know I can do better because as soon as I got in the car, I realized that I could have saved about $4-5 more dollars if I had been more careful with product selection.  Still, I am excited that I got $66 worth of groceries for $20!

2 bottles of Pantene Shampoo (I meant to get one shampoo and one conditioner--blame it on the baby distractor)

My family went to the Heart Ball Saturday night.  We had such a fun time getting dressed up, eating, dancing, and taking part of a wonderful fundraiser for the American Heart Association.  Pictures below...

In other news, Daniel is walking all over the place.  He walks the most at daycare...the least at home!  He is slowly getting the hang of it.  He sometimes loses his balance and can get back upright by himself!  He uses several sign language signs, and his favorite thing to do is to tell Welles to "stop" when Welles sings to him. I get a good laugh out of that.  If you ask, "What does the cow give us?" he signs "milk."  He is a pretty smart little buddy, and we are very proud of him!  Next week we see his pediatrician for the 15 month checkup, so hopefully we will have some stats then.

My grandmother (Grandmommy) loved twilight.  She said it was her favorite time of day.  Daniel loves twilight, too!  We went outside after dinner yesterday, and he was very happy.  He played with two sticks--acting like a conducter as I sang, "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." 

He was a drooling machine!  He has 16 teeth in his mouth...could he be getting more?

He walked and walked and walked with his walker.  I am so happy the weather is warming up!

Valentine's Visitors

Daniel's grandparents came to visit on Valentine's night. They brought a cute card and a yummy cookie (I know because I had a bite!)
