Outside at twilight

My grandmother (Grandmommy) loved twilight.  She said it was her favorite time of day.  Daniel loves twilight, too!  We went outside after dinner yesterday, and he was very happy.  He played with two sticks--acting like a conducter as I sang, "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." 

He was a drooling machine!  He has 16 teeth in his mouth...could he be getting more?

He walked and walked and walked with his walker.  I am so happy the weather is warming up! 

Thank you, God, for toddlers, springtime and your love.

Valentine's Visitors

Daniel's grandparents came to visit on Valentine's night. They brought a cute card and a yummy cookie (I know because I had a bite!)

Daniel showed off his walking skills as well his ability to throw a mini-tantrum.

First Steps

At 28 pounds and 1 ounce, it is about time!  Daniel took his first steps at daycare today.  I was running a little late picking him up - I am usually there by 4:45 and didn't arrive until right at 5:00 PM.  He was fussy because most of the other kiddos had been picked up.  But - he took a few steps and that is a huge milestone.  I love Ms. Ashleigh's reaction to his first steps!  One of his teachers recorded this video with her phone. 

We are so thankful to Ms Kristie for recording this and to all of his teachers for working tirelessly with Daniel the last few weeks.

We are so proud of Lily Cate! (click her name to see her Fox 6 debut)  Lily's mom, Wendy, works with me and has been a great friend for several years. They shared several toys with Daniel - including the kid-sized kitchen you saw in this post:  http://wellesandsherry.blogspot.com/2011/01/brrrrr.html.  The kitchen is one of his favorites along with the lawnmower they gave him at Christmas.

Gray, Blustery, Snowy...Are we in Birmingham, AL?

Today we woke up to a winter wonderland, but it wasn't bad enough to keep us home from school/work. It was all fine and dandy to Daniel. He drank the warm juice in his sippy cup and was hap-hap-happy all the way to daycare.

Ever been to Jump Zone?

This place is cool!  Daniel loved it; even though it wasn't meant for kids younger than 2.  Welles had a good time, too!  He was a good sport and took Daniel down the slides and in the bouncy houses.  It was a great way to let out some energy.  Daniel slept all the way home and for 1.5 hours afterwards!
