The Cutest 7 Week Old Baby We Know

Daniel loves to be on his back - playing on his play gym or just after a diaper change on the changing table. This isn't the best position for a baby with reflux, though, so we are planning to improvise with some wedges to elevate his head. When he is not having a "reflux episode," he really is a happy baby!

How we know that enough is enough and it is time to move on to the next activity:

Santa brought Mary Linnley and Daniel the same outfits in pink and blue. We were able to have a photo shoot last Saturday and the babies seemed to enjoy being around each other--notice they are holding hands in the above picture.

A rare peaceful moment in the swing...

I have never met a baby or child that didn't like to swing...until Daniel. Today, I put him in the swing when he fell asleep in the sling, and he slept for a whopping 30 minutes! I found a loophole to the non-swinger!

As new parents, we have found the following things helpful as we start life with the new little one who apparently is suffering from acid reflux:

The Happiest Baby on the Block by Harvey Karp-- We are becoming pros at maintaining 4 of the 5 S's to calm Daniel during the witching hour.

AR has added rice starch and has helped control spit up tremendously!

"Cooling him off" with the hairdryer on the warm setting is a trick that works every time we are past the point of trying rational things.

Coffee--need I say more? (for us--not Daniel)

And the tee-tee tee-pee helps with diaper changes, but not necessarily fussiness. This is actually marketed as the "wee-blocker" and has prevented some wee wee disasters!
