Camp Comic

Daniel has been attending Camp Straight this summer (in Bluff Park, AL.) This week is Super Hero Week, and Daniel had to make up a Super Hero, super power and weakness. He wanted to be "the Green Baker" so that his super power was feeding hungry and poor people. The Green Baker's weakness is the trash can.

His idea was chosen, and he was one of 5 children in a comic book for the week. His original intent doesn't exactly go with the way the comic is written, but he is so excited to be part of this special week and comic!

2017 Cruise Part II

Our cruise departed from New Orleans and traveled to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. We had an amazing time! Below are videos and more pictures from our trip.

Cruise 2017 Part I

This year we went on a cruise for our family vacation. Daniel loved every minute and was so exhausted by the end of the day that he fell asleep by 8:30 each night. It has been 8 years since Welles and I last cruised, and Carnival has perfected the onboarding and debarking process. The shows were amazing each night, and our favorite was the 80s night.

2017 baseball season- Red Sox

Daniel had a great little league season this year! We are so proud of his hard work and dedication to baseball. Below are several videos of some good hits that he had the season.

Daniel's 7th birthday

Daniel turned seven on December 9. I picked him up early from school and took him to his favorite donut shop for a snack. We had family over for dinner and ordered food from Salvatores, an annual tradition.

Daniel is in the first grade and has learned so much over the last year! He can read very well, has made new friends, and loves Math. He also likes to draw and create race tracks for his Hot Wheels. We are so proud of how well he is doing in school.

Daniel loves spelling and has a spelling test each week. Up until December 2, he had made 15/15 plus the bonus word on each and every first grade spelling test. As I projected he would be if he didn't get 100%, he was pretty devastated when he made a 14/15 (he still got the bonus word right). Daniel rewrote the spelling word he missed and resolved to get 15/15 on every test in the future.

Daniel currently plays basketball and has been taking batting practice to prep for baseball in the spring (the spring season starts in early February). He played flag football in the fall, and loved that as well. He is looking forward to joining the swim team again in the summer.

The following day we had a kid birthday party at the new urban air trampoline park. 14 of his friends from school came to celebrate with him. We are so proud of our seven-year-old and everything here has accomplished!
